Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Prepping For Your Wedding

As a wedding photographer, it is my job to make sure everything goes flawlessly on your wedding day. Preparation for your wedding day begins long before I take the first photo, and it’s a meticulous process.

Communication is key. Multiple discussions with the couple are not just important; they're essential. These conversations help me understand your personalities, preferences, and the unique dynamics of your relationship. We talk about the style of photos you love, the moments you deem unmissable, and the people who mean the world to you. This initial groundwork lays the foundation for photos that are not just seen but felt.

One of the most critical tools in my arsenal is the premade photography timeline. This schedule is a collaborative effort, tailored to fit snugly within the broader itinerary of your day. It outlines when key events will happen, from getting ready shots to the first dance, and allocates time for those must-have portraits. By planning this in advance, we ensure that the day flows smoothly and that no moment is overlooked.

The family formal list is another vital component. This checklist, created with your input, ensures that no family combination is forgotten amidst the hustle and bustle. I would hate to anger your Aunt Sally by forgetting to grab a picture of her.

My gear is imperative to the success of your day. Batteries are charged, memory cards are formatted, and all equipment is checked and double-checked days before your wedding. Lenses are clean, and extra equipment is checked. Everything is neatly packed, organized in a way that I can quickly find what I need without losing focus on the day's events.

The day before your wedding, I pack my car like hoarding hobo. Literally everything I will need and then some, from my camera bag to backup equipment. I download directions to the ceremony, reception, and any other photo locations into my phone, considering potential traffic issues or construction detours. I also pack snacks—energy bars, water, and a few treats—to keep me fueled and focused throughout your big day.

Preparation is the unsung hero of wedding photography. As I pack my car and check my list twice, I'm not just preparing for another job—I'm gearing up for one of the most significant days of your lives.
