As a wedding photographer, every wedding I have the privilege to photograph is unique and special in its own way. But there was something truly unique about Krysti and KC's elopement in Arundel, Maine.
From the moment Krysti reached out to me, I knew this elopement would be something extraordinary. Together, we worked on the timeline together, ensuring that their day ran smoothly. Krysti and KC envisioned a small gathering, with only their closest loved ones present - Krysti's mom, KC's parents, and brother. Krysti was going to be wearing a black dress instead of traditional white, which is right up my alley with attracting unconventional couples!
Despite being in February, a month typically known for its snowy landscapes in Maine, there was no snow. Like, not even a little bit. While it was a disappointment, it didn't dampen the spirits of the couple or their loved ones.
Krysti, adorned in a breathtaking black dress paired with a striking "mob boss" faux fur jacket. I loved every second of them deciding to stick truer to their personalities and do their wedding the way thatchy wanted to. Getting ready at a cozy Airbnb, Krysti did her own hair and makeup, with her mother's assistance in slipping into her dress. It was a moment of quiet intimacy before the ceremony.
As we made our way to the front lawn, where their officiant awaited amidst the chilly wind, emotions ran high. The ceremony was nothing short of beautiful, filled with heartfelt vows and teary-eyed promises. Despite the lack of snow, the backdrop of the winter landscape lent a serene beauty to the occasion.
Following the ceremony, we ventured around the property to capture their formal portraits. The Airbnb's riverfront offered a picturesque backdrop, enhancing the romantic atmosphere of the day. And then there was Moose, their adorable dog, who couldn't resist photobombing every single picture, adding an extra layer of joy to the photos.
As the ceremony drew to a close, we gathered for a toast, celebrating love, laughter, and the beginning of Krysti and KC's journey together. It was a truly spectacular afternoon, filled with warmth and love despite the chill in the air.
