Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Alyssa & Devin 8.22.21 // Barn On The Pemi

Let’s just start by saying that it wouldn’t be a 2021 wedding without a little rain. But what happens when you’ve been planning your wedding for 2 years and already had to reschedule due to a pandemic. Regardless of weather, this day was happening the way that Alyssa and Devin had always wanted it.

Alyssa did a short, but sweet first look with her dad after getting ready. (If you ask any of my clients, I always recommend doing a first look with their mom or dad. It always turns into one of my favorite moments of the day!) We all then walked to the dock to catch the boat to Church Island. It was a small boat and the wind and rain had started to pick up. This was also the weekend that Hurricaine Dorian touched ground. Luckily, we were a bit more inland than the worst of it, but we were definately feeling it. We arrived to the Island and the wind really picked up. We made our way to the ceremony site and settled in as best we could. Everyone got out thir umbrellas and the ceremony began!

The ceremony was great. The officiant was awesome. She made quite a few jokes and kept everyone entertained. Alyssa and Devin did a Unity Sand Ceremony. They got almost all the sand in the bottles even with all the wind!

I couldn’t wait to take advantage of the weather for Alyssa and Devin’s portraits. The fog, rain and wind made the lake look really cool. We walked around the island to different parts taking pictures.

We took the boat back to the mainland and we were all off to the reception at the Barn at the Pemi. Everyone was happy to dry off and take part in good converstation and dancing (probably a bit of drinking too!). After dinner and toasts, the dancing began! Alyssa’s nephew, Nolan, stole the show on the dance floor. He definately was not shy about showing his moves!
