Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Looking Back At My Wedding Season So Far

My wedding season this year was a bit lighter than usual. After talking to other wedding vendors, I was finding that this was a commonality among most of us. I had read somewhere that due to Covid and the “dating and engagement cycle” this is the year that couples meeting in 2020 would be getting married. Obviously, not a whole lot of people met in 2020. Regardless, I wound up having one of my best years to date despite having a light wedding season.

One of the most valuable aspects of this lighter wedding season was the chance to second shoot with other talented photographers. Collaborating with them not only allowed me to learn new techniques and gain fresh perspectives, but it also led to the formation of some wonderful friendships within the industry. The experience of working alongside fellow photographers was invaluable, as we shared our knowledge and supported each other throughout the process.

With fewer weddings on my schedule, I was able to invest more time and attention into ever wedding the I had on the books. By working closely with them during the planning process, I could better understand their vision and help them plan accordingly for their day. This deeper level of involvement allowed me to build stronger connections with my clients, resulting in a more meaningful experience for them..

Having a lighter workload provided me with the opportunity to explore other aspects of my business I had the chance to spend more time in my studio, experimenting with different lighting techniques and refining my editing skills. This allowed me to enhance my portfolio and expand my range of services, offering clients a more comprehensive photography experience.

Looking back, this year felt incredibly well-rounded. While shooting weddings is undoubtedly my passion, the lighter workload allowed me to diversify my experiences and engage in different aspects of my business. By embracing the unexpected, expanding my network, and exploring new possibilities, I was able to grow both personally and professionally.

Sometimes, unexpected circumstances can lead to unexpected blessings. Despite a lighter wedding season, I found that my journey as a wedding photographer took an exciting turn. The opportunity to second shoot, connect with clients on a deeper level, and explore new avenues within my business made this year truly memorable. As I look forward to the upcoming wedding season, I am grateful for the valuable lessons learned and the remarkable experiences gained during this well-rounded year.
