Cornish, Maine Wedding Photographer // I Am A Wedding Ninja
Weddings are one of the most important events of our lives, and capturing the special moments of the day is crucial. I am not just a professional with a nice camera, but a ninja who captures all the emotional in-between moments throughout the day. Here’s some of the key things that I do to ensure nothing but the absolute best outcome for your wedding day and wedding photos.
Even though wedding are a hell of a lot of fun, I always remember that I am working in a professional environment. So, there’s the basic stuff. I try to blend in with your friends and family. And, obviously, I must be respectful and courteous to everyone, including the guests, the family, and the wedding party. I dress appropriately and blend in with the crowd, without drawing too much attention to myself. Remember, I am a Wedding Ninja!
The best wedding photographers are like ninjas – they move around quietly and unobtrusively, capturing the special moments of the day without disturbing the ceremony or the guests. They should have a keen eye for detail and be ready to capture the little moments that make the day special. I never want your guests to remember me…. you know in a good way! I am able to move from one end of the reception hall to the other without disturbing a soul!
During family formal time, is the only time where, these rules don’t apply. I must take charge and be bossy to ensure that everything runs smoothly. I am confident and assertive, directing the family and wedding party to ensure that they are in the right place at the right time. It is important to be clear and concise when giving directions, and to be patient when working with large groups of people. That way, we get through that list of family members with plenty of time to make sure you see some of your cocktail hour!
Anyone who has worked with me knows that I am just a little type-A. I am always well-prepared for the day. All the timelines and formal lists are done way ahead of time. I must be familiar with the schedule of the wedding. I also have backup equipment in case something goes wrong, and, trust me, I have had a catastrophic camera failure at a wedding. The couple never even knew it. I just calmly grabbed my back up and continued on with the day like nothing happened. I’m always ready to adapt to changing weather conditions or other unexpected circumstances. I keep a handful of clear umbrellas in my trunk just in case!!
In conclusion, there’s a lot that goes into making sure that your day is perfect. But, most importantly, I must be a ninja, capturing all the emotional moments of the day, while also being bossy during family formal time to ensure everything runs smoothly. If you’re planning your wedding, make sure you choose a photographer who understands these principles and can deliver the perfect shots for your special day.
