Maine & New Hampshire Wedding Photographer // Lauren & Conor's Engagement Session at Kettle Cove Beach
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Conor and Lauren's engagement session at one of my favorite spots, Kettle Cove. This picturesque location never fails to amaze me, and this time was no different.
It was an unusually quiet day at Kettle Cove, likely because it was Father’s Day. When I arrived, Conor was playing with their dog on the grass. As I discussed the plan of action with Lauren, we both got ready for the shoot.
We began our session on the bridge that faces the golden hour light so beautifully. This spot is a gem, providing a natural backdrop. I asked Conor and Lauren to walk back and forth, interacting with each other as naturally as possible. This technique allowed me to capture a blend of posed and candid moments, resulting in pictures that truly reflect their connection.
Next, we moved to the field of goldenrod. Although the flowers hadn’t yet bloomed, the tall, swaying grass created a stunning scene. Conor and Lauren’s interactions amidst the grass made for picture perfection.
Our final destination was the beach. Normally, this area is bustling with people, but today it was unexpectedly tranquil. This rare calmness allowed us to move freely and shoot without worrying about other people in the background. I took the opportunity to do some lit shots, hoping to capture the perfect sunset. Unfortunately, the sunset was rather underwhelming that evening. However, the soft, diffused light still provided a lovely ambiance for the final shots.
