Maine & New Hampshire Wedding Photographer // Kirsten & Justin's Engagement Session at Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Kirsten and Justin's engagement session at the iconic location. of Fort Williams. Visiting from Washington DC, I was super excited to meet Kirsten and Justin face to face for their session.
Our adventure began at the little fort near the entrance. I've always loved this spot, and I decided to do an all time favorite of mine– a semi-silhouette shot in the doorway. The result is always something unique.
From there, we wandered up to the gardens out back. The wildflowers were in full bloom, creating a beautiful backdrop. The abundance of yellow flowers perfectly complemented Kirsten’s dress. I then took advantage of some beautiful golden hour light filtering through the trees.
As we slowly made our way down to the lighthouse, snapping pictures along the way. The gate was open, allowing us to venture onto the rocks with Portland Headlight in the background. The combination of the lighthouse and the ocean made for some truly spectacular shots. Kirsten and Justin were naturals as they interacted with each other creating those posed, but candid shots that I love.
We continued around to the front of the lighthouse, where Kirsten and Justin climbed onto the rocks (again) for a few more shots. The sun was beginning to set, so we hurried down to the beach to catch the sunset. The sunset looked like pink cotton candy, creating a dreamy backdrop for Kirsten and Justin’s strolls along the shore. They walked back and forth, laughing and bumping hips, completely immersed in the moment.
Kirsten and Justin's engagement session at Fort Williams Park was perfect. I can't wait to see what their wedding day holds, and I’m honored to be part of their journey.
