There’s nothing like hiring the best team of vendors to make your wedding day go exactly how you want it to. I know that it probably feels like you are bleeding money paying for your wedding, but hiring the right people can save so much time and aggravation.

Hiring a planner to not only help on the day of your wedding, but throughout the planning process. Couples tell me this is one of the best decisions that they made in regards to their wedding... besides hiring me, obviously! Planners literally help with every minor little detail, nevermind run the show and keep things going smoothly on your wedding day.

How many weddings have I shot that a family friend is officiating and they forgot to tell everyone to be seated? Or stand right in between the couple during the first kiss? Too many. Too many. I know this is an easy place to save a few dollars, but a professional Officiant will tailor your wedding ceremony to you. I realize it's funny to get your uncle’s dog walker to jump online and get ordained because he’s kinda entertaining and you can pay him in booze, but a lot of the time these ceremonies are a little awkward and definately not as polished as a professional. 

Repeat after me, “A playlist on my Iphone is not the same as hiring a professional DJ.” If you do decide to go the playlist route, cool. Just be prepared for moments of silence, the wrong song being played at the wrong time, weird transitions between slow and upbeat songs, etc. A good professional DJ will keep you and your guests entertained and, more importantly, the dance floor hopping! He is also able to read the room and determine what type of song he or she should be playing next. 

As far as hair and makeup go, all I have to say is take the time and get your trial done. You don’t want to be surprised on your wedding day when your hairdresser makes you look like Dolly Parton circa 1986 instead of the Pinterest picture you showed her.
