Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Cass & Andrew 9.18.21 // River Winds Farm
It’s very rare that I can say that a wedding went 100% perfectly, but this wedding was definately that 1in 1,000,000 that I can say just that. Cass and her girls were super relaxed and snacked as they got ready for the day. The all laughed and talked as if it was any other day. Seriously, I don’t think that a bride could have been more calm!
The guys were the same. Andrew and his guys all sat around joking and eating as they waited to get their suits on.
Cass put on her wedding dress with the help of her mom and bridesmaids. She looked absolutely stunning! Her mom finished it off by placing Cass’s veil in her hair. Cass decided to do a quick first look with her dad and her brother! It was so sweet to watch how close her family is!
Once ready, she did a first look with Andrew. It was a very dramatic, long walk from the house to the pond where Andrew was standing. This was the only first look where the groom had to remove a bumble bee from in between the multiple layers of tulle. It was just a quick moment of panic followed by more first look sweetness.
Then it was time for the ceremony. Everything was running right on time! It was amazing! The weather was warm and sunny. You could not have asked for a better day! Especially after all the rain that 2021 has brought! Cass and Andrew had their ceremony under the shade of River Winds Farm’s apple tree. It was the perfect amount of shade for them on that sunny day.
The wedding barn was set up perfectly. Very simple, yet elegant. Cass and Andrew were introduced and they had a dance number that they performed for their guests. It was really fun and showed just how awesome this couple really is.
Remember before how I had said that it was sunny that day and that was unusual for the 2021 season? Well, as dinner was about to start the thunder began. No rain yet though. So I grabbed Cass and Andrew to do some quick storm cloud pictures before the sky opened up. These are usually my favorite portraits of the day. I know, everyone loves a perfect cloudless day, but honestly, I’ll take the storm clouds and rain over direct sun any day!! I threw up some lights and was ready to go! I love the drama of these portraits. Even better, later it actually started to rain. Most people get upset when it rains on their wedding day, but I told Cass and Andrew that I wanted to create something special for them. The lights went up again and I grabbed a clear umbrella. We quickly did a few pictures and I sent the happy couple back inside so they didn’t get too wet.
The dancing continued for a bit longer, but it was time for me to go. I was stoked that Cass and Andrew had a perfect wedding day and that I was able to create something super special for them.
2022 is looking to be just as crazy as 2021 and I only have a few spots left. Contact me today with your date to get on my calendar!!
