Cornish, Maine Newborn & Wedding Photographer // What's the Full Time Professional Photographer Difference
Let me first start by saying that this blog post isn’t by any means meant to put down photographers that still work full time jobs. I simply noticed a huge difference of how I ran my photography business when I went 100% fulltime. I really thought that I was doing an awesome job, but I was just doing an awesome job given the small window of time that I had to run my business. Now that I am able, I dedicate more of my time giving my clients an outstanding photography experience. That means I create a unique experience for each client based on their requests with much faster turn around times for their finished product. I am also able to invest more back into my education, learning all that I can about photography and business.
From the very start, I make a point of making sure that I promptly return any and all emails to clients. I have years of experience to be able to appropriately guide my clients with whatever their concerns may be. All of my shoots come with consultations, so that I can tailor each session to my clients. There is no just showing up and shooting. Each of my shoots have been well thought out prior to their appointment. For my newborn photo shoots, I even do mock setups at my home prior to going to the client’s house.
The planning for weddings starts months prior to the couple’s wedding date. I help my couples make timelines, family formal lists and find any vendors that they may be missing for their event. I make sure that my wedding couples know that the can reach out to me for advice even for the smallest of details.
For my newborn sessions, I offer Reveal & Ordering Sessions a couple of weeks after the shoot. I walk my clients through the process of picking wall art, albums, or folios for their home. I handle all of the ordering and will even deliver it to them.
I love being able to have the time in my photography business to offer all these special services for my clients. Afterall, they are all pretty awesome and totally deserve it!!
