Cornish Maine Newborn Portrait & Wedding Photographer // Photography Session Products
At the beginning of the year, I started to ask clients what the wanted in the way of product to dress their homes, so that I could better serve them. I was not surprised at what some of the top contenders were. After all, they are all ways that I love to display my pictures in my own home.
I love, love, love large wall art! Go big or go home, right!?! When you make the investment in wall art, make sure you have the right sized print for your wall. You have no idea how many times clients think that the x-small print will be perfect for one of their larger walls. Remember why you picked me as your photographer. It’s not just so I could take your pictures, but because I specialize in turning your pictures from your photo shoot into art. When you view a sample in your hands, it appears much larger than it will up on your wall. So always size up or measure your space. I can assist my clients in making the proper choice in wall print size by having them simply tape a regular sized piece of paper to the wall that they want to dress and take a picture. Once they send me their room picture, I can put it into my computer and show them what different sized prints will look like on their own wall! It’s so cool to be able to see what it will look like before they even purchase the print!
But seriously, big wall art makes a bold statement with such a clean appearance. Wall art is one of my favorite things to sell clients because I know that they will look at it everyday!
Albums are not just for wedding photography anymore! My family and newborn clients absolutely love them. Of course, my wedding albums have more pages, but the newborn albums are just as impressive! I once had a client tell me that she didn’t understand why the albums cost so much until I delievered it to her. She was very impressed with the quality and was elated that she had made the investment in what will most certainly become an heirloom. I also offer “grandparent books”. They are also stunning and have the same thick, lay-flat pages that the albums have. Either can be used as coffee table books or stored on a book shelf to be shared for years to come!
Folios have a special place in my heart because I literally have them all over my house. The largest wall in my living room has a mixture of 8x10 and 11x14 folios in simple black frames. I must have at least 20 up on that one wall by now. I will sometimes swap out the pictures or I’ll just add more frames and folios! It’s great way to add a variety of pictures. For me, I have pictures of my boys from toddlers up to now! If it’s not a folio up on my wall, it’s a dramatic, statement piece of wall art!
When I asked my clients what they wanted to see me sell, I was stoked to see that they wanted the same products that I already have and love in my own home! Anyone that’s talked to me for more than a few seconds knows just how passionate I am about being a photographer and being able to help my clients create these amazing memories and pieces that will last a lifetime!
