Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Lakeside Wedding Venues
Last week I had written a blog post about some of the amazing Oceanside venues that I have shot at over the years. So, my blog would not be complete without writing about some of the fabulous lakeside venues that I have been able to visit. I mean, camps and lakes are all very Maine.
First on my list is Migis Lodge right on Sebago Lake. Both weddings that I shot there had lakeside wedding ceremonies with the bride brought to the site on a boat. It’s a really cool entrance, trust me! The reception hall is very campy, but classy. Its also heated which is a bonus if you were planning on having an early spring or late fall wedding. Another bonus to Migis is that it offers on site lodging for all of the wedding guests. That way everyone can party as hard as they want with no worries!
If you are all about the DIY wedding, then Kingsley Pines in Raymond is a beautiful venue. I haven’t been to this venue for 4 or 5 years but I still remember the gigantic tree that my couple choose to get married under. There’s a lake of course. The camp is located right on Panther Pond to be exact. Is a large pond still considered a lake? I have no idea, but there is water there and it’s not the ocean. Anyway… there’s also lodging for the happy couple and guests, but, if your wedding weekend is on the cooler side, bring some blankets and sweatshirts, there’s no heat. If you are tougher than me, then you will be fine, but I’m a big ol’ sissy. But, seriously, the camp is super pretty and there are so many places for pictures in the woods, which is kinda my thing!
I last got to visit Moose Lake Lodge in Otisfield (an Air BnB) back in 2020 and I’m super excited to be going back there again this year. It’s just a huge log cabin situated off the beaten path on a completely private slice of land. Don’t be off put by the whole “log cabin” thing. It is a very nice log cabin and not at all what you would expect. It also is lakeside with it’s own private dock. My couple decided to do their first look (with their dog) on the dock. It has the perfect mixture of lake, woods and field for plenty of photo ops. It is also a DIY venue due to it being an Air BnB, but you could probably sleep immediate family and a few of the wedding party there with you.
Over the years I have shot at a ton of lakeside venues, but these kinda stood out in my mind even years later.
