Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // My favorite 2021 Wedding Pictures Part 2

I’m just going to pick right up where I left off on Friday’s blog. I’ll start with Meg and Ryan’s wedding. Ryan is a fellow photographer, which always makes it a little bit more fun! I loved that barn that the guys were getting ready in. It definitely fit my “moody” and dark style of photography. It also served as the perfect backdrop for portraits later. Then there was the first look that Meg did with her dad. It was incredibly emotional and her mom joined in as well. It was a really beautiful moment. I push for all my couples to do a first look with not only their soon to be spouse, but a parent.

I will never, ever forget Alyssa and Devin’s wedding. With a hurricane due to rip through New England, honestly, I was a tad concerned. Alyssa and Devin’s wedding required that we get on a very small boat and travel to Church Island in NH. I really had no idea what to expect. Well the wind picked up as we were on the boat on our way to the island. There was no turning back. The ceremony site was right on the beach of the island. Wind and rain blew through as they had their ceremony. It was a true test to see if my equipment would survive a hurricane. Luckily for me, everything went fine. I grabbed the picture above as the wind blew Alyssa’s veil. I love how her air remained perfect through out the whole thing, but Devin looks a bit wind struck. I decided not to fix that in post because it really told the story of that moment.

Mike and Emily are just a super fun couple and their wedding did not disappoint! I don’t think that I have ever had a wedding feel like it went by so fast. It was just a whirlwind of non-stop laughs. I used the outside of their venue to do some night portraits. I wanted to create something super special for them!

Cass and Andrew’s wedding was so relaxed. It was amazing. We had originally planned on doing some sunset pictures, but Mother Nature had different plans. I noticed that storm clouds were rolling in and thunder had begun. I grabbed the happy couple out of the dinner line (they were more than happy to do so) and ran outside for 10 minutes. I set up my lights and within minutes was shooting some of my favorite pictures from their wedding. The clouds were so crazy and the sky had turned a weird peach color where is was able to poke out in-between the clouds. As fast as we got out there, I whisked them back into the venue so Cass didn’t get drenched. After the sun had gone down completely, I dragged them out to the deck of the venue and did a few umbrella pictures. I love using my lighting to be a little more creative.

Anjali and Corbet got married at Corbet’s parent’s home. They have the most amazing view of the mountains so sunset pictures in this setting was a no brainer. I was even happier when I showed up to see a vintage couch sitting in the field by the view. We were super fortunate in the wedding season of rain that we got the most awesome sunset.

Max and Merrill got married for the second time this year. Merrill’s dad had made a vintage moon photo booth prop. It matched Merrill’s vintage Hollywood vibe that she had perfectly.

Let me first start by saying that I’m super proud of this wedding. This is not something that every wedding photographer could pul off. I used my year’s of experience to create unique portraits using all artificial lighting. That probably doesn’t sound like much to everyone, but photographers know what I’m talking about. I was looking forward to this wedding, between wanting to shoot at the venue and knowing that Emily was going to have a very dark vibe to her wedding. I love me a dark wedding! It was a lot of fun and they tolerated me playing with my lights and moving them around in their venue to make best use of all the brick and rustic old wood.

2021 was phenomenal, but I’m really looking forward to 2022!!
