Cornish, Maine Wedding Photographer // Carol & Eric // Bristol, Maine Private Residence

I first met Carol a million years ago while working in healthcare. Our friendship predates her even meeting Eric! Carol initially met Eric through a mutual friend at the gym and their relationship grew from there.

On the day of their wedding, it was a bit cloudy and not too hot. I give a lot of credit to the adventurous people that get married in the middle of the summer when its 95 degrees out. The ceremony and reception was to be held at a family’s property right on the ocean.

The girls got ready at Carol’s brothers house. There was a small crew getting their hair and makeup done in the kitchen. Just Carol, her mom, her sisters and niece. Carol & Eric had decided to have a small wedding and only invite their very immediate family. Her and Eric got married at his grandfather’s home, which, obviously, holds sentimental value to both of them.

Eric had made the arbor and a number of other things at their wedding. On the arbor he had cut out shapes that resembled Carol’s tattoos. It was a nice personal touch. Carol’s friend had done all of the flowers and they looked absolutely stunning!

The guests had started to arrive as the sun had started to make a slight appearance. The family took their seats and Eric walked down the aisle with Carol’s brother. The whole ceremony was very casual and stress free. Carol walked down in her bare feet. They had a short ceremony where Carol’s niece sang a song and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

We did a some family formals after the ceremony and then it was time for everyone to relax and have a few drinks. Carol & Eric had their first dance, followed by an impromptu, hilarious dance by Carol & her brother.

Everyone had tacos for dinner and ate cake. We followed up by doing some golden hour and sunset pictures with Eric and Carol. This was probably one of the most laid back weddings that I have ever shot.
