Michelle and Pierre met years ago on a dating app, as I’m finding a lot of my couples do. I’m old and picked up my husband at a bar, but a dating app seems much easier and efficient! While on a trip to Vietnam in 2020, Pierre proposed. They had gone on a private boat tour to sight-see and this is where he popped the question!
Michelle & Pierre’s wedding was nothing short of an adventure. Hair and makeup started at sunrise for the first ceremony. To honor Pierre’s Vietnamese heritage, they had a Tea Ceremony just before lunch. The bride and bridesmaids got their hair done and then put on the traditional Ao Dai (Vietnamese long dress) to prepare for the ceremony.
The time had come for the Tea Ceremony. The unmarried bridesmaids had lined up and waited to receive the gifts from Pierre’s groomsmen. The gifts were exchanged and all family members settled in the room for the ceremony to begin. Once inside Pierre’s family members were all introduced one by one to Michelle’s family. Pierre’s family then lit the ceremonial incense to purify the room. Pierre and Michelle then served tea to their family members, followed by Michelle receiving gifts from her new mother-in-law. The ceremony was complete and the families all celebrated.
Then it was time to get ready for the next ceremony. Michelle quickly changed out of her Ao Dai and into her white wedding dress. She looked stunning! Meanwhile, Pierre, with the help of Michelle’s father, put on his suit. He had gotten “P” cuff links that were the perfect accent to his suit.
Michelle and Pierre had decided to do their first look right by the oceanside where they would be getting married just a short while later. Pierre stood facing the water as he waited for Michelle to tap him on the shoulder. Their first look was beautiful. Some tears were shed (of happiness, of course). And the happy couple quickly ran through their family formal pictures and we even had some time to snap a few formals of just the two of them!
For the most part the day was really cloudy, but as soon as their ceremony started the sun came out. It was pretty amazing! Michelle & Pierre stood oceanside while their closest friends and family watched as they got married. The ceremony was beautiful and concluded with a bubble exit!
Afterwards, it was finally time to relax, eat, drink and party! Michelle & Pierre tried to talk to all of their guests and even ate a little dinner. The children took over the dance floor while the adults ate.
After dinner, we went out for the last of the formal portraits and were able to catch a killer sunset. Pierre and Michelle danced in the street while I snapped away. After a short stroll, we did a quick shot in front of all the paper lanterns in front of the venue (a small nod to Pierre’s heritage) and then it was back to the party.
We rejoined the party and I took pictures as Michelle & Pierre danced with their guest. It was such an amazing day! Congrats to the happy couple!!
