Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the engagement session of Kristen and Jake, a charming couple whose connection was palpable from the moment I met them. Our adventure began at their favorite bar, the Wallingford Dram, where the dimly lit ambiance provided the perfect backdrop for capturing intimate moments and genuine emotions.
Walking into the Wallingford Dram, I instantly understood why Kristen and Jake loved this place. Its cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality welcomed us with open arms. The owner poured their favorite drinks as I prepared my equipment. The dim lighting and rustic charm of the bar were right up my alley.
Positioning Kristen and Jake at one of the tables, I encouraged them to relax and enjoy each other's company. As they chatted and sipped their drinks, I discreetly snapped away, capturing the genuine moments. To enhance the atmosphere, I played with off-camera flash techniques, creating a captivating interplay of light and shadow that added depth and intrigue to the images.
The Wallingford Dram held a special place in Kristen and Jake's hearts, so it was important to capture all of their favorite spots. We ventured around the bar, immersing ourselves in its unique corners. From the intimate tables to the worn bar counter, each photograph reminded them of shared memories and the bond they had nurtured in this special place.
After capturing the essence of the Wallingford Dram, we ventured out into the picturesque town of Kittery. With its charming streets and quaint architecture, the town provided a delightful backdrop for Kristen and Jake to simply be themselves and enjoy each other's company.
As the engagement session came to a close, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to document Kristen and Jake. From the intimate moments at the Wallingford Dram to the enchanting streets of Kittery, every photograph captured the atmosphere that surrounded them.
I loved the uniqueness of this engagement session. It’s not every day, but also not my first time being asked to photograph a couple in a bar. The Wallingford Dram served as the perfect backdrop, allowing me to create captivating photographs that reflected the couple's unique story.
