Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Korrie & Matt // Engagement Session
As a wedding photographer, every couple I work with brings a unique vision and story to the table. Korrie and Matt were no exception. From the moment they reached out to me, I knew their engagement session would be something special. What ensued was truly something unique.
Planning for Korrie and Matt's engagement session began months in advance because we had something special planned. Their wedding, set to take place at an old theater, inspired us to craft something truly memorable: replica movie posters. Matt’s last name being Smith, it was obvious what we had to do.
Our adventure kicked off in the studio, where we meticulously recreated iconic poses from beloved films. Drawing inspiration from "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and "Knocked Up," Korrie and Matt effortlessly embodied the roles, infusing their own chemistry and personality into each shot.
Stepping outside, we were greeted by a 22” of fresh snow. Not fun in April, but we rolled with it. Against this serene backdrop, Korrie and Matt shared adorable moments, strolling hand in hand, I snapped away.
Mother Nature had other plans and, unfortunately, we had a crappy sunset. A veil of clouds dimmed the sky, casting a muted palette over the horizon. I was disappointed, but we worked with what we had. We did some unique lit images, just so Korrie and Matt could have something else a bit unique in their session.
In the end, it wasn't just about the photographs we had taken, but the memories we had created along the way. Korrie and Matt's engagement session reminded me why I love what I do – not simply as a photographer, but as a storyteller. I really loved working with them to make both their movie picture and engagement session vision come to life. I can’t wait for their wedding next month.
