As a newborn photographer, each session is unique, and Camden's session was no exception. I recently had the joy of photographing baby Camden, accompanied by his proud big brother Landon.
Our session began with the essential task of feeding Camden. He just needed to be topped off so he could get super sleepy. It's always important to ensure the little ones are well-fed and comfortable before we start.
With Camden settled, it was time for his first outfit. Dressing him in a cozy, sweater swaddle, I gently placed him in a little basket. I took a moment to adjust my lighting, ensuring everything was perfect to capture Camden's sweet expressions and delicate features. And then, we were off and running.
Camden slept so soundly, making it a dream to work with him. His peaceful slumber allowed me to capture those newborn moments that parents cherish forever. After a successful set in the basket, it was time for a wardrobe and set change.
With Camden in a new outfit and a fresh set ready, it was time to introduce Landon into the photos. Big brother Landon was a bundle of energy, so I made sure to give him the really important job of hugging the basket that held his brother. Capturing the bond between the brothers was heartwarming. Landon's gentle interactions and protective nature shone through, resulting in some truly special images.
Next, I attempted what I fondly call "tempting fate"—a complete outfit change for Camden and positioning him on his back. Most newborns, including Camden, aren't particularly fond of being on their backs. I always save this for the end, knowing it can be a bit of a challenge. Despite Camden's initial protests, we managed to get some beautiful shots, capturing his spirited personality.
With the individual and sibling shots complete, we moved on to family pictures. Capturing the entire family together is always a highlight.
For a final touch, we decided to venture outside to the lush greenery of the woods near the studio. The natural backdrop added a wonderful element to the photos, bringing a sense of tranquility and timelessness to the session.
Reconnecting with Camden's family during this session was a true pleasure.
