As a wedding photographer, there are some days that stand out, and Korrie and Matt’s wedding at The Strand in Dover was certainly one of them. The day began on a calm and joyful note as I joined Korrie and her bridesmaids for a little beautification. The room buzzed with excitement as the talented hair and makeup artists worked their magic, transforming Korrie into a bridal beauty.
While the girls laughed and reminisced, I took the opportunity to capture some of the day’s details—Korrie’s dress, her sparkling shoes, the super cool “movie ticket” invitations, and, of course, the rings that would soon symbolize their commitment.
With preparations complete, we made our way to The Strand, an amazing old movie theater that now served as the perfect venue for Korrie and Matt’s wedding. Inside a small, vintage theater room, Korrie’s bridesmaid helped her into her dress. The soft lighting and historic ambiance of the space added a timeless feel to the moment.
Next, I headed to Matt’s hotel to capture his prep. I captured Matt as he adjusted his tie and buttoned his jacket with the help of his best man. These moments of camaraderie between the groom and his friends are always awesome to photograph—there's a mix of nerves and anticipation that makes for great candid shots. We then walked back to The Strand, chatting about the day ahead.
Back at the venue, friends of Korrie and Matt were busy setting up the ceremony site, adding personal touches that made the space vibe with Korrie’s black & gold vision. Just before the guests arrived, Korrie and Matt shared a private first look on the main stage.
The ceremony itself was a beautiful blend of tears and laughter, highlighted by heartfelt vows that left not a dry eye in the house. Their daughter’s adorable walk down the aisle added an extra layer of sweetness to the event. When Korrie and Matt were finally announced as husband and wife, there was so much excitement for the couple.
After the ceremony, we strolled through the picturesque streets of Dover for their formal portraits. The historic backdrop of the town complemented the couple, and we were able to capture some breathtaking golden hour pictures of them simply walking and enjoying each other’s company.
The reception at The Strand was a true celebration. The introductions kicked off a night of exuberant dancing and heartfelt dances and toasts that brought tears to many. One of the highlights of the evening was capturing a portrait of Korrie and Matt in front of the theater’s iconic marquee—which adorned their names and the wedding details.
From start to finish, Korrie and Matt’s wedding was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. As a wedding photographer, being able to document such a significant day in their lives is a privilege I never take for granted.
