First off, let me start by saying that I am in no way a Wedding Planner. Those guys know every little thing that you could ever want for your wedding. But, hey, as one of your vendors, I’m also here to help. I think that most couples think that I’m going to just show up and photograph their wedding, but I will do so much more than that!

One of the very first questions that I ask my couples even before they hire me is “how is your wedding planning going?” I like to gauge exactly where they will need my help. If they already have a Wedding Planner, I typically touch base with them just so they know that to involve me in the planning process. I kinda like showing up where I’m supposed to be when I’m supposed to be there!

Only about 50% of of my wedding couples have wedding planners or are planning on hiring one. If they are struggling to find vendors, I can give names of people that I’ve worked with in the past that are great at what they do. That seems to be one of the huge barriers this year. 2022 seems to be booking just as fast as 2021. 

Some of my weddings are destination weddings, so the couple is trying to plan a wedding from hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles away and they just don’t know where to begin. I constantly remind my couples that part of the reason that the hired me is to help with some of the heavy lifting.

A few months prior to their wedding date, we really start nailing down the details. That’s when we start discussing timelines, family formal lists, what exactly the couple wants for their formals. Do they want a first look? Do they want golden hour portraits or sunset pictures? Do they want to front load their wedding and get all of the formalities out of the way before they even have their ceremony? There’s so many little details that will change the flow of the day. Just remember that I’m here to help!
