Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Andrew & Emily 12.4.21 // Brick South

Emily and Andrew got engaged in 2019. Andrew proposed while going for a walk at a reservoir near their home. They first contacted me in December of 2019 to photograph their 2020 wedding. I think that we all know how this story goes. Covid, blah, blah, blah. They rescheduled their wedding for December 2021, so they could have the wedding that they always wanted.

Both Andrew and Emily got ready at the Westin Hotel in Portland, Maine. The girls had hair and makeup on site. Everyone laughed and joked. There was some pretty crazy conversations going on. This was the best entertainment that I had in awhile! It was pretty hilarious! Emily had the coolest flower crown for her hair. It took a little bit of adjusting to get it on right, but it looked perfect once it was all pinned in. Emily’s sister stood by her side and helped her put on her dress. Emily looked absolutely stunning!

Watching the guys get ready is always rather amusing. They definitely take it less seriously than the girls. And, let’s be real, it literally takes them 1 minute to get ready, so much of what they do when I’m in the room is for show. Andrew’s brother helped get his tie tied, while he ironed his pocket square. Andrew actually put his jacket on twice. Once by himself like a normal person would. The second time, taking more of a team approach. He had all of his groomsmen dress him. It was all very theatrical! The guys always know how to loosen up before a wedding!

Then it was off to Brick South for me to grab detail shots before the guests started to arrive. I arrived at the venue and was blown away by how beautiful everything looked. All the vendors did such a spectacular job setting up. The front row had Andrew’s father’s and brother’s fire helmets to honor their memory. The cake looked amazing. All of the tables were set up with simple, but elegant floral arrangements.

The ceremony was short but sweet. Everything went perfectly. It was nice to have an inside ceremony where I didn’t freeze my ass off the whole time!

Family formals and Emily & Andrew’s formal portraits followed. I was super stoked to be able to use my studio lighting for 100% of this wedding. We did a whole bunch of creative portraits, as well as some more traditional style pictures.

Then it was on to the toasts and dances. Then the real party started. Everyone had such a great time! I know that Emily & Andrew had to wait an extra year to get married, but it was totally worth the wait! They had a flawless day!
