Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // My Favorite Wedding Pictures From 2021 - Part 1
What a memorable year 2021 has been. I love being able to go back and look at these weddings with a fresh perspective. Sometimes with the craziness of the wedding season, its hard for me to appreciate all of these moments for what they are. So with fresh eyes, here’s some of my favorite wedding pictures of 2021.
Its really hard to pick just one or two pictures from each wedding. There are so many perfect moments! But I’ll never forget all the kids at Paul and Kim’s wedding jumping into the lake mid-reception. They were all so cute. I know that the parents probably felt differently, but the ceremony was over, so what’s a little water?
Ashely and Chris had a windy wedding at Fort Williams, followed by a photo shoot on Wharf Street in the Old Port. The wind gave a little drama to their portraits and I couldn’t have been happier about it. They probably didn’t love it at the time. What wedding couple would? But I love the feeling that it gave to their pictures!
I could have easily shared half the gallery from Aubrey and Noel’s wedding. I was particularly proud of this one. I have probably overshared the umbrella picture, but I absolutely love it. There’s a story behind that one as well, plus it sparked me to start doing night portraits for all of my wedding couples at the end of their night. Aubrey and Noel wanted to have a sparkler exit, but like every other wedding of 2021, it rained. Not only did it rain, it downpoured. There was no way that these guys were going to have the exit that they wanted, so I grabbed my clear umbrella and asked them to come outside with me. I literally used the available light and took a few shots. It took some dodging and burning in post but I got exactly the end result that I wanted for them. It is far from a sparkler exit but its not nothing!
Kirsten and Lewie had actually gotten married last year right at the beginning of the pandemic. They did not want to postpone their marriage, but obviously, had to postpone the big wedding that they wanted to have. I was actually there for their micro-wedding last year and got to do it all over again this year but on a much larger scale. From the second I arrived I could see how much happier they both were to be surrounded by all the friends and family that was unable to make it the year prior. Their wedding was definitely a reminder how important it is to surround yourself with the ones that you love.
Brittany and Harris are a couple that knows how to make each other laugh. There were so many candid moments like the one above but I felt like this one at the end of the evening really summed up them. These guys were so much fun at their wedding!
I’m so fortunate that I got to spend my 2021 with some pretty amazing people! Fingers crossed that 2022 is just as good, if not even better!
