Cornish Maine Maternity Photographer // Brittany & Nick // Kettle Cove Maternity Pictures

There’s nothing better than when wedding clients become long term clients so I can watch their family grow. That’s the case with Brittany and Nick. They got married last year. I was fortunate enough to photograph their Portland City Hall elopement. After the ceremony we went to Kettle Cove for their formal portraits. We decided that this would be the perfect backdrop for their maternity and family pictures. They had asked for more candid type family pictures instead of traditional maternity pictures, already having a daughter and wanting to incorporate her into the pictures as much as possible.

We met at the beach, following a pretty wild snow storm the day before. Despite the large amount of snow there was still a lot of people, including surfers there. We got started by getting their 4 year old warmed up, but that didn’t take long. She was very excited to have her picture taken! She threw rocks in the ocean and gave me the biggest smiles.

I set up some lights and we did some walking pictures to accentuate Brittany’s bump. Their daughter was so proud to walk and get her pictures taken. It was awesome. Four can sometimes be a tough age, ask any parent!

All of a sudden the sky opened up and turned the prettiest golden color. We definitely took advantage of it! It turned out to be such a perfect evening!
