Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Kylie & Damian // Portland, Maine Elopement

As a wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of documenting countless weddings. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing the elopement of Kylie and Damian These two wanted a super laid back, low key ceremony. From their Tinder match to an Italian proposal, their journey led them here.

The day began with Kylie getting her makeup done by her talented sister. Her mother, grandmother, and Damian's mother watched over. The girls helped Kylie pick out jewelry. Her sister placed a handmade cape, crafted especially for her on her shoulders.

At Dyer Cove, the family unpacked everything needed for the ceremony site. They gathered, bringing chairs that were arranged on the sand, creating an intimate setting for the exchange of vows. Delicate flowers adorned the end chairs, marking a short aisle for Kylie's entrance. With Damian at the head of the aisle, Kylie walked down the path. In a heartfelt ceremony filled with short vows and genuine "I dos," Kylie and Damian officially became husband and wife, surrounded by the love and support of their families.

After the family formals, we did portraits on the rocks at the edge of Dyer Cove, taking advantage of the golden hour's warm light. Against the breathtaking backdrop, I captured portraits that beautifully showcased Kylie and Damian.

As the sun began to set, we drove to the old port, adding a touch of drama to their portraits. The fading light created a perfect opportunity to use some lighting to make some perfectly moody portraits.

I really miss some of these “micro” weddings. The absence of chaos often associated with larger weddings allowed us to focus on Kylie and Damian.

From the serene beachside ceremony to the golden hour portraits and the dramatic images in the old port, Kylie and Damian’s elopement was truly perfect and I am honored to have been a part of it.
