Cornish, Maine Maternity Photographer // Favorite Maternity Pictures from 2022

Where to start? I love shooting maternity pictures. The sessions that I enjoy the most are the ones that I feel like I can take creative risks (different lighting and cropping) and maternity sessions are definitely those kinds of sessions. Let’s start with Erica and Joe. I had so many favorites from their photo shoot. As a bonus they brought their little dog, Lola with them! She really was the star of the show! They picked Ferry Beach in Scarborough as their shoot location as it is a place that they enjoy going. We walked the beach using the water and the pink and purple sky as a backdrop. I used both natural light and a single light set up for these and loved how using each changed the feel to thesis pictures!

Alyssa & Devin were past wedding clients of mine. I was so happy to hear from Alyssa when she found out she was expecting. The original shoot date turned out to be a particularly stormy day, which seemed fitting since their was a hurricane on the day of their wedding. But this time, we rescheduled. The day of the shot is was absolutely amazing and warm. The beach was very crowded, so we walked out a bit to let Alyssa and Devin have some privacy for their shoot. There’s nothing more awesome as a rocky beach, so it seems obvious that this is where I would take some of my favorite images from this session.

There was a lot to love about Brittany and Nick’s session. I first met them last year at their wedding. I was so excited to hear from them when they found out Isla was going to be a big sister. Brittany decided to do both a more traditional maternity/family session and a maternity boudoir. You’ll have to go to my boudoir website to see those pictures though! They chose one of the prettiest beaches. I let Isla run around the beach while we took pictures. It was such a fun and stress free session! It really was more like letting Isla play on the beach then taking their pictures. This is probably why this was one of my favorite sessions. The emotion and raw feel to these was genuine and not at all forced.

Some of my favorite sessions are maternity. I hope that this year is filled with these sessions!
