Maine & NH Wedding Photographer // A Look Back at Some of My Favorite 2024 Weddings
Every year I like to look back at my wedding season, which is often a blur, and really appreciate each of the weddings that I am fortunate to be a part of. As a wedding photographer, I’m fortunate to witness intimate, heartfelt celebrations that leave a lasting impression on me. Two weddings early in my season stood out—not just for their unique locations and beautiful details, but for the genuine love and excitement that filled each moment. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be blogging my favorite weddings of 2024.
Krysti & KC's Winter Elopement in Arundel, Maine
Krysti and KC came all the way from Florida to Maine, dreaming of a snowy, winter wonderland elopement. They rented a cozy Airbnb in Arundel for an intimate February ceremony, inviting only their parents and KC’s brother. It was a day planned for peace, simplicity, and heartfelt connection—just the perfect amount of people for a winter elopement.
While the snow didn’t make an appearance, the day was magical in its own quiet way. The cold air brought a stillness to the surroundings, and the property, nestled alongside a peaceful river, felt like it was meant for their celebration. The beauty of the river became our backdrop, its gentle flow a soothing contrast to the excitement and warmth shared between Krysti, KC, and their loved ones.
Photographing Krysti and KC was a joy. Without a big crowd, the whole day felt incredibly personal and filled with the support of their family. The serene setting brought out the raw, natural beauty of their love story, and we made use of every angle, embracing the peaceful, wintery tones that Maine offers so perfectly.
Korrie & Matt's Unforgettable Day at The Strand
Then there was Korrie and Matt’s wedding at The Strand—a venue I’d been looking forward to shooting at. From the start, Korrie had a clear vision of her day. She chose me specifically because she knew I could work with different types of lighting and capture her and Matt in a way that would be both unique and artful. When a bride has that kind of confidence in my work, it always inspires me to push creative boundaries.
The theater’s ambiance was rich and dynamic, a beautiful blank canvas for creative portraiture. With Korrie’s style and vision leading the way, we set up dramatic lights that brought out the vintage charm of the theater and turned the venue into something magical. From classic, moody portraits to playful moments with natural lighting, we captured every side of their day in a way that felt as unique as Korrie and Matt themselves.
And, let’s talk about the party! Their guests brought such amazing energy—everyone was genuinely thrilled for Korrie and Matt, and they really let loose. The whole night was filled with laughter, dancing, and so much love and joy, which always makes for the most memorable photos. Capturing those moments, the ones where people are genuinely in the moment, is something I live for as a photographer.
Both weddings reminded me why I love this work so much. Each couple brought something unique and beautiful, allowing me to tell their story in a way that felt true to them. From a peaceful riverside elopement to a vibrant theater celebration, these were days filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Here’s to all the couples who trust me with their memories, and to more incredible celebrations ahead.
