Maine & New Hampshire Wedding Photographer // Making Beautiful Portraits Regardless of the Weather
As a wedding photographer, I've learned to expect the unexpected, especially when it comes to weather. Hello El Niño. With a wedding approaching this weekend and, of curse, I’m watching the weather. The forecast predicting yet another round of rain, I find myself thankful for my ability to make amazing portraits regardless of weather.
Last year, it seemed like every weekend was met with shitty weather, leaving many couples anxious about their big day. However, rain or shine, weddings aren't EVER canceled.
But it's not just rain that challenges us as wedding photographers. Winter weddings present their own set of obstacles, from chilly temperatures to limited daylight. I once shot a wedding where the couple opted to stay indoors to avoid the cold…. all day. Like, not a single picture to be taken outside. With the venue, BrickSouth, as our backdrop, we used the brick and curved archways to create some memorable pictures.
Adapting to changing weather conditions is all part of the job, but it's also an opportunity to showcase creativity and resourcefulness. Whether it's finding unexpected beauty in a rain-soaked landscape or embracing the coziness of an indoor venue, there's always way to create beautiful portraits for my couples.
