Maine & New Hampshire Wedding Photographer // Kirstyn & Justin's Wedding // Damariscotta Lake Farm, Jefferson, ME
There are weddings, and then there are days like Kirstyn and Justin’s at Damariscotta Lake Farm in Jefferson—a day that felt like the stars aligned and everything went perfectly. From the moment I arrived, everyone was relaxed, hanging out like it was a regular weekend with close friends, not the morning of a big event. The entire vibe was calm, which set the tone for a perfect day.
The reception area had been set up the night before. The centerpieces were super unique—books, globes, and old-fashioned lamps perfectly placed in the center of each table. These little details made their wedding uniquely "them"—thoughtful and full of character.
As the day unfolded, the couple separated to get ready in different parts of the old farmhouse. I decided to follow the girls upstairs, where Kirstyn and her bridesmaids were doing their own makeup. There was no rush or frenzy—just easy laughter, brushes, and palettes in hand. In the middle of it all, Kirstyn found time to do her stepsister's makeup. It was such a simple yet telling moment of who she is—always thoughtful, even on her wedding day.
Meanwhile, the guys were getting into their suits. Let’s just say, YouTube saved the day when it came to tying their ties! The room was full of banter and lighthearted jokes as they prepared for the ceremony.
Once the girls helped Kirstyn into her dress, it was almost time for the ceremony. She looked absolutely gorgeous. After a few final touches, it was time to make our way outside for the ceremony.
As the guys walked out first, guests started to arrive and settle in. Then the girls made their entrance, one by one, down the aisle. And before we knew it, the ceremony was over—possibly one of the shortest I’ve ever witnessed. In maybe three minutes, Kirstyn and Justin had exchanged vows, rings, and sealed it all with a kiss. Quick, but meaningful. That’s all that mattered.
Then came the real fun—the party. It kicked off with some fantastic dances. Everyone was in high spirits, and the dance floor quickly became the heart of the evening. But before the night completely took over, we slipped away for sunset portraits. The light was magical in the back garden, with soft, golden rays filtering through the trees.
After capturing a few stunning shots in the garden, we headed down to the lake for more portraits. The serenity of the water paired with the soft evening glow was the ideal backdrop for some truly unforgettable images.
When we returned, the party was still going strong. Kirstyn and Justin’s friends danced late into the night, making sure their wedding celebration was nothing short of epic. From start to finish, it was a perfect day. One that I feel so honored to have captured.
