Maine & NH Wedding Photographer // Lauren & Conor's Wedding // Josia's River Farm, Ogunquit, Maine

Weddings like Lauren and Conor's remind me why I love what I do. There was something magical about the entire day, and it all began at Josie’s River Farm, a hidden gem that set the perfect stage for their wedding.

The morning unfolded in the coziest, most genuine way. Lauren and her bridesmaids gathered in the living room, sitting on the floor with their makeup scattered across the table. There were no stylists fussing over them—just friends helping each other, laughing and sharing stories as they got ready. It was such a beautiful moment, an example of how getting ready for a wedding should feel: intimate and relaxed.

When it was time for Lauren to slip into her dress, her mother was right there, gently zipping her up. The girls gathered around, deciding together on Lauren’s hairstyle, finally choosing a simple bun. It was perfect—elegant and timeless, complementing her stunning dress and flawless makeup.

The air shifted slightly as the boys arrived, signaling that the first look was about to begin. First looks are always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. There’s something incredibly special about capturing those raw emotions when a couple sees each other for the first time. Lauren and Conor’s first look was no exception. They shared such a sweet, quiet moment together before tucking away as the guests began to arrive.

Lauren’s best friend officiated the ceremony, and it was one of the most heartfelt and personal services I’ve witnessed. When someone who truly knows and loves the couple officiates, it brings an extra layer of meaning to the moment. The vows felt deeper, the words more intentional. And just like that, with a kiss, Lauren and Conor were married.

After the ceremony, the celebration continued with the toasts. Both of their parents had prepared speeches, and the love and pride they felt for Lauren and Conor were palpable.

Once everyone settled in for dinner, I knew I had the perfect opportunity to steal the couple away for their portraits. We started simply on the lawn, capturing them against the wide, open landscape of the farm. Then we moved to the barn, using its rustic charm as a backdrop. The garden gave us more color and texture, and we ended in the woods, where the light filtered perfectly through the trees, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere.

Finally, it was time for the reception in the barn. The dancing kicked off with Lauren and Conor’s first dance, which was nothing short of magical. It felt like the perfect end to a day filled with love, laughter, and all the moments that make weddings so special.

Lauren and Conor’s day was a beautiful reminder of what weddings are truly about. It’s not about the perfect details or elaborate settings. It’s about love, connection, and the moments in between. I was honored to capture it all.
